Megan founded Grounded in 2016. She saw that harsh chemicals hurt indoor air and long-term health. Megan loved Ayurveda and yoga. She learned that standard cleaners can harm both people and nature. She could not find safe options in East Africa.

Megan mixed natural ingredients that grow nearby. Soon, her safe, effective, and green formulas became Grounded’s products. Three years later, her sister Alison joined. Alison’s know-how in agriculture and global health helped local farmers and cut waste. They both show that cleaning is more than a task. Their work cares for both body and environment.

Ethical Sourcing and Local Impact

Grounded uses local sources for 80% of its ingredients. They get aloe vera, essential oils, and even second-grade coconut oil from near-by farms. This local choice boosts Kenyan agriculture and cuts waste. It also shrinks harmful supply chains.

At Design Delight Studio, ethical sourcing is key. We use GOTS-certified organic cotton for our tees and sweatshirts. We print with water-based inks free of toxic chemicals. We select suppliers who meet strict eco-standards. We also use recycled packaging to lower waste.

Grounded recycles plastic, protects with UV covers, and sets up refill stations. This model fits with our view of sustainable fashion. We favor slow production, quality goods, and a longer life for each product.

Designing for Longevity and Lower Waste

Grounded makes concentrated detergents that last longer. Their 2kg laundry pack cleans 66 loads. This practice cuts down on plastic waste and repurchases.

Our studio values durability and low waste, too. We use a made-to-order system that stops overproduction and scrap. We release small, artist-inspired runs. Each garment is made with care for a long life.

Grounded adds refill stations in Nairobi. These help people reuse cleaning bottles. Similar ideas also work for refillable bags in fashion. Such systems invite customers to join a greener future.

Overcoming Challenges Through Education and Innovation

Grounded taught consumers about non-toxic cleaning. The founders held demos and spoke directly with people. Their outreach built trust in safe alternatives.
